When there was no rice, it was called “mud & water.” 『
Then, we planted the rice with our friends. 『
Then, the rice grew. And then, we made homes for the tadpoles with shovels. 『
Then, the rice grew and grew and grew and grew. And, we cut the rice with shape sickles. 『
And then, we threshed the rice with a machine that had a lot of nails. And, sometimes, we used a board which had a lot of nails. 『
And then, I shook the rice with a basket that had a lot of square holes. And, that basket caught all the grass. So, I could separate the grass from the grains.
My dad carried 6 kilograms rice all the way to our home in Tin Shui Wai. 『
I ate the rice with my mom who was pregnant. And, my dad cooked more rice, and I ate it. It was good.
