ダウンタウンの４ｔｈストリートから、登って行ったところ、Boyd Memorial Parkの敷地内にある、小さなミュージアムです。
In San Rafael, up the 4th street, this small museum locates in Boyd Memorial Park.
今、２０１０年は、１０月までMarinの農家さん・農業の歴史について、展示してあります。 昨年は、『Transportation : 汽車』についての展示でした。
Now, in 2010, until October, their exhibition theme is farming. Last year, their theme was “Transportation: Trains.”
近所の学校が、このミュージアムを社会科見学に使うこともあり、大変混む時間帯もありますが、普段は学芸員の方が一人いらっしゃるだけで、落ち着いて遊べます。 （落ち着いて遊ぶ！という雰囲気を、この建物は醸し出しているような気がします。）
Sometime, the local schools use this museum for field trip, then it becomes really crowd. But, usually there is only one museum staff, so it really quiet and children can play calm. (This building has atmosphere for children to stay calm, somehow I feel.)
電車・レール・ぬいぐるみなどのオモチャの他、紙や、ノリ、はさみなども用意してあるので、工作やお絵かきも出来ますし、外にはBoyd Parkのプレイグランドやテニスコートもあるので、いろんな遊びが出来ます。
They provide, toys (train set, staffed animals, and so on) and the other materials such as construction papers, glue, scissors, and so on, so we can do many things. Also, the outside is Boyd Park, so they have a nice playground, and the other side is a tennis court, so we can play different types of play here.
また、少し歩けば サンラファエルの市立図書館がありますので、そこの駐車場に車を停めれば、無料ですし、本を読んだり、DVDを借りたりと、便利です。
In addition, if you walk a little bit west, there is San Rafael library, so if you park there, the parking is free, and you can check out some books and DVDs, FREE!!
